FireRed slaps if you wanna experience Gen 1 with modern mechanics. It has nice QoL stuff like trainer rematches and better status conditions, plus breeding and egg moves.
I’d recommend it if you’re chasing nostalgia or just want something fun and classic. Some mechanics feel a little dated next to HGSS, but overall it still holds up really well.
