Review
FireRed lowkey slaps if you wanna experience Gen 1 with modern mechanics. It has nice QoL stuff like trainer rematches and better status conditions, plus breeding and egg moves.
I’d recommend it if you’re chasing nostalgia or just want something fun and classic. Some mechanics feel a little dated next to HGSS, but overall it still holds up really well.

Used fast-forward a lot once I got past the early routes. Even sped up, Pallet Town and that music still hit the same as when I was a kid staying up too late on my GBA.
The Miyoo Mini Plus is lowkey perfect for Pokemon. It's in my pocket at all times, ready for a few minutes of nostalgia whenever I have some spare time.
Running around, catching Pokemon, and taking on gyms kept me going until the credits. Solid playthrough.
