The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium TalesIt looks really nice. Played like a dream. I enjoy the time travelling and the quests. I will list the two main defaults I encounterd : 1) The quests location : I dislike having to talk to 12 NPCs to look for an object. Here you will either see right away or look for a while. Obviously you can activate the localization and instantly know what to do but it is less fun. 2) the "running" update. The game isn't hard even on hard so why make me wait 15 hours to be able to run into ennemies without losing the speed up spell? It doesn't make it harder but more tedious yes.
Pokémon BronzeIt is ancient as romhack go and I upped my initial grade due to that. At a time where a lot was garbage, this was nice. I think my first romhack, don't remember. Years later, still nice. Obviously, it is dated and not on par. But what is really.
Pokémon Bronze Version 2It is definitely better than Bronze one. The author of this hack wants it to be "just anpther Pokemon game" and not a grandiose reimagining. It achieves that, but the cost is a bit much. Pokemon romhacks are played by, I would assume, other millenials and I would line some qol changes that take my limited time in considerarion and a story a bit more developped. All in all though, quite a fun ride. It is juste another gen 2 pokemon game. He is working on Bronze 3 and I will happily play it.
Pokémon Dark EnergyI am sad that it seems to be dropped. I like it a lot. A more rpg ish pokemon game. More mature without getting teenager edgy. I like that you can unelvolve eevee. The characters and the story pacing could have been better but it is fun nonetheless.
Pokémon Coral VersionStill in beta, will be exceptionnal when done. Really beautiful and with an interesting story.
Retroid Pocket ClassicDeviceI got the Classic as somewhat of an impulse buy because I wanted a vertical pokemon machine and it was cheap at 150 dollars (about 125 chfs). I took the 6 buttons version because why not and I was seeing a lot of post on twitter and youtube about Saturn hidden masterpieces. I was a bit hesitant at first. It is quite a bit bigger than I expected and the plastic made it feel 'toyish'. I was familiar with the screen as it is the same as the RPMini V2. It is gorgeous and crisp. Locked at 60Hz but I don't care about BFI or other stuff. I played all my lige at 60 fps and I seldom up it even on my gaming pc. I am a bit of a special case for that. Gaming on it ws a bit awkward at first, the buttons are clacky indeed, though they are quieter after months of use. It took a while to get used to the disposition. Russ guide helped though. It quickly grew on me though. The screen is gorgeous and the speaker, while mono, sounds so good. It is an absolute joy to play everything up to PSX. Is it overkill? Yes. What is the point of being an adult if you cannot splurge though? I rarely put it down. It lives comfortably in my pocket or my bag and is so easy to pick up and play. The battery life is amazing. The two negative points are : 1) the buttons, they could be larger. 2) the gpu, it is quite weak indeed. It is my most beloved device though as my childhood lives in it. P.S. I will add that you can debloat it and optimize with Shizuku, Shizutools or Canta and Macrodroid. P.P.S I would reconmand the SleepManager app, it turns a great battery life into an awesome one.
Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire SurvivorsFinally beat it. It is really really fun and quite addictive. I do like it a bit more than Vampire survivor as it is less repetitive though it may be because there is much less content. At this point in time at least. The graphics are quite good, if you like that style, and the cards and combo system are awesome. I particularly appreciate the system of diminishing or increasing the appearance rate of gems. Happy to play again if and when the DLCs drop. 4 out of 5 because it is a bit lacking in content. Will update at 5 when that changes.
